Diane Marie Jenner, 69, of Chapin, SC passed away on January 17, 2022. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Ernie Porter and Gretchen Geissinger Porter. She attended North High School in Des Moines and was a graduate nurse from the University of Saint Francis. She worked as a nurse practitioner and retired after 45 years of dedicated service with the VA Hospital. She cared tremendously for the veterans and always worked hard to provide the best possible care during her decades in the GU clinic.
Diane moved to Chapin, SC in 1993 with her family and fell in love with Lake Murray. She enjoyed boating and spending time on the Lake as much as possible.
Diane had an undeniable passion for giving and taking care of others. She was an amazing mother, wife, nurse, and grandmother to her son’s fur babies. Diane devoted her life to her family whom she loved unconditionally. She was a model of positivity, strength, faith, and love until she went home to meet the Lord.
She truly set an example of kindness to all, and was the go-to for family and friends when it came to medical advice and insight. She was affectionately known as "Mama Jenn" to her sons, family, and even friends. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she found more joy in helping others than anything else in this world. She was the rock of the family.
Diane also had a passion for animals and rescuing Bull Terriers in need from various shelters. After retirement from the VA Hospital, she volunteered at the Good Samaritan Clinic and Pawmetto Lifeline.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Luke Jenner; sons, Ross Jenner and Brett Jenner; mother, Beverly Shaffer; sisters, Carla Shaffer and Mica Lorenz; and brother, Jack Shaffer.
