A memorial service for Donald Lamar Conner, husband of Enid Baker Conner, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with burial to follow in the church’s memorial garden. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Don passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 04, 2018. Born in Phenix City, Alabama, he was a son of the late Thomas Richard and Effie Windham Conner. A 1964 graduate of Auburn University, he was a professional in the textile industry for more than 50 years. He traveled the world through work, setting up textile quality programs in several countries including China, Thailand and Pakistan.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 25 years; sons Robert Conner (Robyn) and Richard Conner (Sue), of Spartanburg; daughters Nan Coghill (David) of Yorba Linda, CA and Jennifer Yates (David) of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Conner Coghill, Christopher Coghill (Casey), Will Conner (Meredith), Kate Conner White (Taylor), Alex Conner, Andrew Yates (Lauren), Ellen Marley Yates; and two great-grandchildren, Lennon and Dylan Coghill. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his two sisters, Lois Becker of Jacksonville, Florida and Ella V. Houser of Bensalem, Pennsylvania; and three brothers, Ralph Conner and Arthur Conner, both of Jacksonville, Florida, and Alton Conner of Columbus, Georgia.

Don was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Columbia, where he served on various committees. He had an unwavering love for his family and was always a pillar of support for anyone in need. Don was a passionate fan of the Auburn Tigers and closely followed college football each year. He enjoyed golfing and loved all animals, especially his Jack Russell terrier, Sadie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 170 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210 or Raintree Jacks, Jack Russell Rescue,
