

Donna Wagner (Maiden Name, Kitchens), 55, of Beaufort, SC, passed away on August 10, 2024. Born on July 8, 1969, in Augusta, GA, she moved to South Carolina, where she dedicated over 29 years to Lexington Medical Center. Donna held various roles including staff nurse, clinical coordinator, clinical mentor, clinical educator, and community partnerships coordinator. After retiring in 2021, she continued her passion for nursing part-time at Bridges Preparatory School in Beaufort, SC.
Donna was a graduate of Irmo High School and furthered her education at the University of South Carolina, earning her RN-BC, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University.
Known for her unwavering passion and resilience, Donna was deeply involved in community service, notably with the Harbor Island Turtle Watch Team and Horseshoe Crab Research Team. Her love for nature extended to bird watching and spending time at the beach with her sweetheart, best friend, and spouse of almost 33 years, Robert H. Wagner, and their dogs, Piper and Daisy. Donna cherished spending time with her children, Caitlin and Grant, who were the light of her life.
A devoted member of Grace Point Church, Donna's faith was a cornerstone of her life.
She leaves behind her husband, Robert Wagner; children, Caitlin and Grant Wagner; mother, Sylvia Kitchens; sisters, Deborah Simmel and Angela Floyd; along with in-laws (Mark Walring, Derry Simmel, and Dean Floyd), nieces (Caroline Simmel, Addison and Katherine Floyd), and nephew (Jon Simmel). Donna was preceded in death by her father, Buford "Tommy" Kitchens, her Father-in-law, Gerald Wagner, her Mother-in-law Deborah A. Walring, and pets, Buster, Ginger, and Tink.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on August 17, 2024, at Dunbar Funeral Home - Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow St., Irmo, SC, with visitation following the service.
