Dorothy "Dot" Geddings Meador

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Dorothy “Dot” Geddings Meador, 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Meador passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. Born in Sumter, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Joseph Geddings and Wilma Betts Geddings and stepmother, Ginger Pollard. She was a graduate of University High School. For over 50 years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Stier Building Supply in Irmo. She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, where she served as church treasurer, was a member of the Adult choir and Handbell choir, served on Alter Guild and many committees including the Cemetery, Worship & Music, Counting.

Surviving are her husband, C. Joe Meador; daughters, Kim Lentz and Stephanie Hanna (Jimmy); brother, Jeff Geddings; sister-in-law, Toni Geddings; nephew, Matt Geddings; niece, Katelyn Geddings.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary G. Davis and brother, James G. “Jimmy” Geddings.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful nursing, therapy and medical staff of Prisma Health Homecare Home Health and Hospice over the past year as mom’s health declined and she became home bound. We appreciate the kindness and prayers from friends, co-workers and church family.
