Mr. George was a proud American. Although he did not serve in the United States Military, he was a patriot through and through, who relished every opportunity to proudly wave his star-spangled admiration and love for our great country. He enjoyed taking trips to the Great Smoky Mountains and collecting memorabilia from the area, which he displayed all around the home. He also was an avid gamer and truly enjoyed the thrill of conquering a game.
Above all, he was a proud grandparent. He loved his grandchildren immensely and was always proud of their achievements and accomplishments in life. He loved to take early morning trips with his great grandchildren to Krispy Kreme for hot doughnuts, and they would finish them in one sitting.
Mr. George is survived by his wife of 68 years, Irene Hansen Jackson; daughters, Brenda Craig and Marlene Hollomon ( Barry); grandchildren, Jennifer Sandsted (Paul), Theresa Byerly, Stephan Byerly, David Craig and Nicole Craig; and great-grandchildren, Jada Sandsted and Ryan Sandsted.
He was preceded in death by a son, George Allan Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 6th, 2025, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.
