George was like a son to me eversince he became my son, Eddie's friend in middleschool. I have many memories of his growing up and going through some of the phases of his teenage years with Eddie where they shared "fun" experiences...some good and some not so good but all part of learning how to handle maturity!
George was always polite and respectful to me and in later years became my "Insurance Man" as I called him! He helped me and advised me in many ways.
I will miss him and his wonderful family ALOT, especially Angie and Zach.
God's Peace and Love to his whole family. Much Love,

Angela and Mary, I was deeply saddened by the news of George's passing. It is especially heartbreaking when someone so young, vibrant and full of life is lost. I will always remember the fun times at the bowling alley. He will be missed by all that ever met him. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Angela,
Michael and I are very sad to have learned of George's passing. George was a fine person. We remember how he always tried to get us to pull for the Gamecocks when they weren't playing Clemson. I still have not made a satisfactory corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot. George's was awesome. The wings he did in the oven at Folly Beach were amazing. We have never been able to repeat that either.
Michael remembers his mischievous smile when he bought the drum set for as a Christmas gift for a friend's child.
You and Zachary have our deepest condolences.
Love and prayers to you, Zachary, George's parents and sister.

Praying for this sweet family. What I know of Mr. Winn is that he was a wonderful father, a caring husband, and a true friend. He’s the type of person that the world needs a lot more of! I am heartbroken about his passing. I pray that God will bring this sweet family comfort in the days ahead.

I met George when I joined a bowling team at Anchor Lanes many years ago. He was always so full of life and so very friendly to everyone. George was a great bowler and competitor, but he was very supportive of the ones who needed a little boost or word of encouragement. I am so saddened by his passing as well as shocked. I had no idea he was dealing with cancer. Angela, I know you are dealing with the loss of your husband and father to your son, and I’m so sorry for your loss. Mary, as a mother, I know the loss of your baby boy has to be heart wrenching. Having 4 sons, they are and always will be my babies no matter their age. My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family. George was a fine man, and will be missed by many. ❤️❤️

George touched everyone that he met. My son and he were in and out of each other's homes during high school and later. Over and over I saw the joy that he brought to his parents, his sister, his friends, his wife and precious son, and everyone that he met. We should all want to be more like George. May all the angels of the universe comfort his family and friends but keep the memories close He will always be in your heart.

My sincere condolences! I am a District Director for the SC Farm Bureau Federation and I had the pleasure of working with George in his role as Agency Manager in Saluda. He was a very kind and generous man and it was always a pleasure to work with George. I have rarely experienced someone with a more positive attitude while facing such a daunting enemy. May his legacy live on in the memories of those who knew him.

The first thought I had when I read this about George’s death is he had such an awesome personality and will be so missed . While I haven’t seen or spoken to George in 2 decades, it obvious by everyone’s post that he was something special... just the guy I remember from Irmo. I pray for comforting arms to wrap around his family as they adjust to this loss. May the memories you made carry you in the days, months, and years ahead. Blessings !

Having known George for 40 years I've seen first hand how he's grown into the man that we all love. Being his sister's best friend put me ring side for all the younger George's shenanigans. All of which I won't mention here :) George definitely has touched so many people over the years. I think everyone would agree that he has the biggest heart, the most infectious laugh, the kindest soul. George was a man of action. When I was widowed with three boy's under the age of 3, George on numerous occasions showed up out of no where to help me. He never asked but just did things that no one ever knew. It could've been diapers on the porch, to gift cards for restaurants, to giving money to buy Christmas gifts for my boy's. That's the man George was a giver not a taker. I will miss George but hold onto knowing I will see him again! I love you George, rest in peace my friend!

George you were such an awesome teammate and Friend. When you were bowling on Monday nights at Anchor Lanes with THE CREW. Bill Vannoy, Todd Haney and myself it was some of my fondest memories, you always kept us laughing and made Bowling fun. When you left the team in mid season last year due to your illness we as a team were not complete without you, Your Smile and your laughter was truly missed!! I know you are at peace and no longer in pain!! Keep the lanes oiled up and ready and we will definitely see you on the other side!! God definitely gained an extremely great man and an Angel!! Thanks for all the laughs!! You will truly be missed my friend!!

George always went out of his way to help. He always had a sense of humor and was always fun to bowl with. He did get our house insurance for us. George was always smiling about something - even when the Gamecocks were losing. Rest easy George, you will be missed by many.

I feel like we got robbed from a lifetime of memories with you and your family as our new next door neighbors. We were looking forwards to backyard picnics and games and sharing life. You will be greatly missed, but we will do our best to help love and care for your precious wife and son for you. I know heaven is a beautiful reward!

As a family friend, George always made me feel welcomed in his home, as if I was one of his own. He had a special way of making his crowd comfortable, happy and joyful at every gathering. He was always the goof ball that I loved to crack jokes with. He was definitely one of a kind, with a huge smile and an even bigger heart. Sending love to all of his family and friends. George will be remembered forever.
