Gilbert "Gil" Joseph St. Marie

Gilbert "Gil " Joseph St. Marie passed away on November 7, 2016. Gil was born to the late Joseph and Christine St. Marie in New Jersey on May 8, 1947 where he lived until moving to Columbia, South Carolina in 1991. Gil worked both in New Jersey and South Carolina primarily in the forklift industry since 1966 where he was well known and respected by all.

Gil enjoyed hunting, target shooting and was a motorcycle/classic car enthusiast. He enjoyed many car gatherings, working on his own classic car and cruising with members of his car club that he considered family.

Gil was a devoted husband and loving father. He is survived by his wife Toni St.Marie; daughter Jennifer Nehrbauer; sons, Jaimie and Joseph St.Marie; grandchildren, Sofia, Adrian and Andre St.Marie whom he cherished. He is also survived by a sister Evelyn McLoughlin and her husband Myles; niece Chris Anne Linkama; best friend Sal Verlingo; cousins, loyal grand-dog Gunnar; friends, and neighbors all whom he loved. Gil touched the lives of many, all who were blessed to know firsthand the warm and loving man we will miss.

The family will be accepting visitors at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo on Friday, November 25 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
