Gloria Anna Brannon

COLUMBIA Funeral service for Gloria Anna Brannon, 81, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015, at Salem United Methodist Church, Irmo, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at her home. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family Ms. Brannon died Saturday, August 29, 2015. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Leland Joseph Brannon and Viola Mobley Brannon. She graduated from Dreher High School and attended the University of South Carolina. She was a secretary at USC and was employed with V.C. Summer. Ms. Brannon was a member of “The Joy Circle” at Salem United Methodist Church, Irmo. She loved animals, reading, gardening and was a wonderful cook. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by sons, Karl Knight (Deana) of Summerfield, N.C. and Leland Knight of Columbia; daughter, Carol Knight of Columbia; grandchildren, Carrie Knight and Karl Joplin-Knight, Jr. (Beka) both of Asheville, N.C. and Tara Cox and Justin Cox, both of Charleston, S.C.; great-grandchild, Junipher Joplin-Knight; and aunt, Eva Brown of Columbia.
