Gretchen was my visiting teacher and true friend and advocate for the four years that I lived in South Carolina. She was a very good cook, and would bring meals and treats to my family almost monthly, despite the persistent health problems she was enduring at the time. She taught me how to rely on Jesus Christ and trust in his atoning power. She had a love for her family and friends that I am sure will continue on.

I got to know Gretchen when my husband, Ron, served with Tim in the presidency of the Young Adult Branch. We had fun in that branch and I had fun getting to know her better. We had enjoyed playing matchmaker for these sweet young adults. She was a fine Southern woman that taught me many gospel and life lessons. Until we meet again.

I am so thankful to have know Gretchen Ivey most of my life. She will live on in my mind as an amazing example of class and grace. She taught me so much. Gretchen taught me table manners, social graces, and the importance of serving others. She was stunningly beautiful, inside and out. I am so saddened to hear she is gone. I will always consider her family.

With Love,
