

Harvey Wayne Stone, 84, of Ballentine, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan 31st, 2025. He was born on August 3, 1940, the son of the late Dan and Maggie Stone. He married Betty Louise Meetze on February 16, 1963.
Mr. Stone was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Harvey was a graduate of Lex/Rich High School and served in the Army National Guard. He worked 42 years and retired from the Columbia Post Office. He especially enjoyed gardening and growing tomatoes. Harvey grew enough tomatoes every year to take his family on a beach vacation, but he is fondly remembered for never eating a tomato himself. Harvey enjoyed working on his 68’ Volkswagens over the years and even helped work on several neighborhood kids’ vehicles.
Surviving are his three sons Barry (Cynthia Chouinard); Brent (Carmen Boatwright); and Brian (Melissa Browne); four grandchildren, Emily Rose Mary Stone, Aleena Olivia Louise Stone, Frederick Avery Hefner, and Maggie Eliza Stone; sister, Aldaray Carnes, and his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother, Donald Stone, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services for Harvey will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Bethel Lutheran Church in White Rock, SC with Reverend Megan Lineberger officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday, February 2 at Dunbar Funeral Home-Dutch Fork Chapel (7600 Woodrow St. Irmo, SC 29036).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, Dutch Fork Fire Rescue or to the charity of your choice.
