Helen Mathias Derrick, 96, passed away June 25, 2024. She was born June 11, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Walter Quitman Mathias and Beulah Johnson Mathias. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, C.D. Derrick and sister, Betty M. Sluder.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Charles A. and Dot Derrick, and daughter and son in law, Jan D. and Russ Conley. She is also survived by her brother, Don Q. Mathias
Helen was a very long time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She loved to work in the yard, draw, and paint.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Harvest Hope Food Bank.
