He was my papa. An amazing one at that. I was his first grandchild so he adored me and my brothers James and Dylan very much. I miss him everyday. He was so close to me. I know that if he was still here today along with my grandma that things would be different and better.

the heaviness will be there for a long time. You are still in shock losing your dad. Don't fight the tears, let them come. My heart goes out to you. Losing my mom was so sad, so I know how it feels to lose a parent. You will probably be very protective of your mom now. Your life is now changed forever, there is an emptiness there and will be there for a long time. Don't let anyone tell you how long you are allowed to mourn. Take as much time as you need. I wish when my mom passed away I would've known how I would feel and how my life would be. There will be lots of sad days. The first year will be tough. Lean on your friends and family for support. Prayers honey. I love yoy.

Another McCarthy here... We have a beautiful statue that your parents gave us as a wedding gift. I am sorry for your loss.

There are no words to describe this loss in our family now.  He was an amazing man and the memories he left with all of us will continue to live on.  I thank him for being the father he was and in turn made my husband the wonderful man he is today.  He will be greatly missed.

It is not possible for me to share the love and compassion this man had for his family and friends. He taught me so many things about life, friendship, and loyalty.
