Jake passed away Monday, May 21, 2018. Born May 25, 1953 in Columbia, he was a son of the late Charles S. and Valiska Felder Coleman. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Mary Manos
Jake was a life-long member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Columbia. He attended Carlisle Military School, was a graduate of Irmo High School, and attended Spartanburg Methodist College. Jake began his career in construction as a superintendent of Coleman Construction, followed by Project Manager with J.O. Baldwin Construction in North Myrtle Beach. He worked for many years in the car business with Stivers Automotive and Stokes Trainor Chevrolet. A restaurateur in Chapin and Little Mountain, Jake owned and managed Goodfella’s and Railroad House Café. He continued his work at Zorbas with his life-long friend, Jimmy Kokolis, and enjoyed sharing his delectable home cooked meals with family and friends. Known for his great sense of humor and robust laugh, Jake never met a stranger and even if he knew your name, he would call you by your “Jake given nickname”. His greatest joy and passion was his family. Jake was a loving and devoted husband, father and “Pop”. Although he loved Lake Murray, Jake considered Pawley’s Island “this side of heaven”. He was an avid Gamecock fan and the leader of the Zorba’s Breakfast Club.
