

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022 in Bush River Memorial Gardens.
A native of Mississippi, Mr. Callicutt was born on September 25, 1923. During the Great Depression, he helped his grandfather deliver milk to neighbors in a horse-drawn cart and he helped his grandmother make ice cream in a churn.
During World War II, Mr. Callicutt served in the U.S. Army Air Force with bomber squadrons which were stationed in the United States as well as Alaska and England. While stationed in Greenville, SC, Mr. Callicutt met Juanita Carson; they married on New Year’s Eve in 1945 and adored each other for 47 years.
Mr. Callicutt was a talented artisan who loved working with wood. He designed and built lovely cabinets and bedside tables which are in his home today.
Mr. Callicutt also forged an impressive career. He began in 1949 as an installer/repairman for Southern Bell, earned numerous promotions, and finished his career as AT&T’s State Commercial Supervisor for South Carolina.
Mr. Callicutt is loved and remembered by his son, his sister, Peggy Cook, his sister-in-law, Marsha Callicutt, and numerous nephews and nieces.
He taught his son how to hold a baseball bat, and he taught everyone who knew him how to live well.
