

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, at McGregor Presbyterian Church, 6505 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29212, with reception to follow at McGregor.
A native of Greenville, SC, Jayma was born to mother Faye Gainey and father James Leroy Taylor.
Jayma grew up achieving high academic honors at each level of education and enjoyed being a cheerleader up through high school. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Journalism 7th in her class in 1984. She was a kind, loveable woman who spent time with her church community at McGregor Presbyterian and raising her children.
Professionally, she was a gifted analyst and staffing manager/consultant, eventually becoming a homemaker for her family. She looked forward to her annual trip to the beach, travelling with her husband to various places. She had fallen in love with Montana and was planning to relocate there with her family.
In addition to her parents, Faye and James, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Leroy Taylor, III (Berea, SC).
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Rick, sons Austin Hines (Columbia, SC), Jonathan Janssen (Waterloo, IA), daughter Taylor Janssen (Greenville, SC), her youngest brother Jay Taylor (Greer, SC), grandson Hunter Holley (Batesburg-Leesville, SC). In addition, she leaves behind 3 nieces and 3 nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to either McGregor Presbyterian Church or on her behalf to the American Diabetes Association.
