

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Jeanette Stephens Nunamaker, 89, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. Andrew’s Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church in the Good Sheperd Room. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Nunamaker passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Born in Swainsboro, GA, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Jewel Stephens and Lula Bell Atkins Stephens. She was the wife of the late James A. Nunamaker, Sr. Mrs. Nunamaker was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild, was the last surviving member of the Christian Homemaker Class, and a member of Ladies Circle #2. For many years, Mrs. Nunamaker was a member of the Garden Club in the St. Andrews area. She worked with her husband at Nunamaker Electric Company where she was the office manager. She also taught kindergarten for 21 years at Virginia Wingard United Methodist Church Kindergarten. Mrs. Nunamaker will be fondly remembered by her friends of Oak Leaf Assisted Living of Lexington. Surviving are her children, James A. “Jim” Nunamaker, Jr. (Donna), Samuel T. “Sam” Nunamaker (Kitty), Evelyn N. Whisnant (Clifford), Kathy N. Daniels (Charles C. Daniels, Jr.); grandchildren, Vicki Hale, Alicia Cole, Janet Mayfield, Amy Gilli, Charles “Trey” Daniels, Katherine Daniels; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Betty Furtick and Martha Brown. She was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Blackston, Lavon Jewel; brother, William Thomas “WT” Stephens; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Nunamaker.
