Jessie Lee Austin

Jessie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandbabies, cherishing every moment she had with them. Whether gathered around for family time or sharing laughter over a game of bingo with friends, Jessie’s warmth and kindness touched those around her. Her faith was an essential part of her life, and she was a dedicated member of Irmo Church of God, where she found comfort and community.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Dean Austin. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Nelson and Minnie Lee Kerley. Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Prentice of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Melissa Austin Waddell (Justin) of Lexington, South Carolina; her siblings, Mary Ann Taylor (Don) of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Carolyn Millwood of Decatur, Tennessee, and Janice Kerley of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel, William, Matthew, Awbree, Brayden, Emma, Wyatt and Easton. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, located at 7600 Woodrow Street in Irmo, South Carolina. A service will immediately follow in the Chapel.

Jessie’s love for her family and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
