Debralyn I just found out today that my dear friend Jody passed away. I remember every Tuesday at SCOA that we laughed, cried, told stories and just enjoyed being together. I had sent him a text back in the summer just to see how things were going and as usual, he said ok. I would have been at his service had I known. He fought the battle but lost the war. God bless you and your family. LindaAmick

I am so sorry about the loss of Jody, he was a very sweet and funny man. I worked with him at the Peak Food Lion for a couple of years. The first couple of months there, I kept thinking, "I know this guy from somewhere". So I finally asked him a few questions and found out we both attended Columbia High School! I was happy to be reacquainted with him! I learned about his illness and prayed for him often. I also enjoyed attending and helping out at the fundraisers for him, and running into him at places other than our job. I believe the last time I saw him was around August at the Ballentine Post Office. He always had a moment to chat & catch up with someone!
I am sending prayers over his family and friends for peace, especially in knowing he is pain-free & completely healed.

Jody was a brave and strong person. He had a light that shown so bright and full of love. A collector he was of many things but friends he collected the most of. Always smiling and always caring. He was larger than life. Music was a great passion. Always a different band shirt of great musicians. Kiss, the Doors and rush just a couple of many tunes and stories we shared. He is deeply missed by many and strongly loved by all. Our treasured gatherings with family and friends will forever hold his spot in our hearts as we never forget the guy in a concert tshirt with the biggest smile, the best cologne and grandest heart. May he forever see the sexiest shoe collection and the greatest rockers! We love you Jody!! Thanks for bringing such great people together!!

I loved Jody’s friendship and his spirit and zest for life! We met at the food lion and he and Michelle befriended me after they learned that I was purchasing special food items for the zoo animals. Jody always made me laugh and I will miss him for that along with that special twinkle that he always had in his eyes.

I met you when I was 18 at Food Lion when I transferred to your store and you were my grocery manager. We became friends and worked together for many years and hung out together with my buddies after we got off work. You went to many concerts with us, we went and saw George Carlin live at The Township Theater together, traveled to Myrtle Beach cruisin' Ocean Boulevard with us in your Suzuki Samurai, we partied together so many times I couldn't count them and we all had so many hilarious great laughs together. You were one of our crew and we loved you. I will always remember all those fantastic times. God bless you Jody and we will meet again.

I love and miss you brother. ✝️

I’m so sorry to hear this news. I knew Jody from Food Lion. He was alway so awesome! He has seen my girls grow up too. He always made a point to stop and talk. He was so courageous when he spoke of his cancer, he was always upbeat. I will miss his smiling face and our visits even though they were brief, he was always nice and sincere. Food Lion has lost a terrific employee and a super guy. Prayers for the family.

I only knew Jody from shopping at Food Lion but he made me feel like we were always friends. He was such a kind and caring soul with an enduring smile and love of all. Jody and his and my dear friend Michelle made the mundane grocery shopping a pleasurable experience one I looked forward to. Jody’s humble service attitude was contagious and a breath of fresh air. I will miss Jody but rejoice in knowing him and sharing just a little in such a wonderful man. God bless.

I am so sad to hear that you passed away Jody. You were always the sweetest guy and had a wonderful smile. Since we went to school together I don't think I ever saw you get mad at anything or anyone. That was a great trait to have. R.I.P Jody I will miss you and love you always.

Jody was an amazing friend to my mother Dee Posey. They would laugh and joke together at the dinner table and afternoons on the porch for hours. He and my mother had such a special friendship and I could tell he cared for me as he did for my mom. He was such a sweet spirit and anyone that makes my mama smile is gonna always have my heart.

We love him and think of him daily in the Posey house.

Jody was one of my best friends for over 20 years. We met at work in 1998 and immediately hit it off over our love of music. Jody always had a big smile on his face and loved to laugh and make people laugh. Jody was everything a true friend should be. Always there when you needed him. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
