A Celebration of Life Service will be held 5:00 pm Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and will host a reception following the service.
John was born in Winston-Salem, NC on December 2, 1942, the son of John Perry and Mable Ingle. He was raised in Asheville and this is where he began his love for the outdoors. He attended Mars Hill University and was a recipient of a Civil Engineering degree from N.C. State. A lifelong learner he also attended; Charleston Southern, University of South Carolina and received his Master’s Degree from Southern Illinois.
Mr. Ingle was self-employed as a Civil Engineer and General Contractor for many years and was co-owner of Jo-Lin’s Bridal and Inglewood Manor. John will be remembered for his selflessness, he was always there to lend a helping hand and there wasn’t a job that he couldn’t do. A lover of life, a man of many talents and passions. He loved to cook and was an avid private pilot who enjoyed flying on spur of the moment trips. Most importantly, he was a dedicated husband, loving father and known as Pa John to his kids and grandkids.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother, Patrick Edward Ingle. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Linda Ingle, sons, John Steven Ingle (Alicia), Robert Eric Ingle (Dana), Russell Holley (Laura), a daughter, Robin Quattlebaum (Milton), nine grandchildren, Brent, Whitney, Dean, Brandon, Tyler, Drew, Cooper, Holley, Carson, two great grandchildren, Brody , Audrey, a brother, Kenneth Ingle (Joani) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
