IRMO - Mr. John Britton Lee, husband of Wendy Jo Klansek Lee, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, surrounded by family. He fought a courageous two-year battle with esophageal cancer. A private funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 and will be livestreamed on the Dunbar Funeral Home – Dutch Fork’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/DunbarDutchFork The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. Health and safety is of utmost importance during these difficult times of COVID-19. All services and visitations will have a strict social distancing and mandatory mask policy.
He was born December 21, 1976, the son of Robert "Bob" Lee and Kathy Begley Lee. He was a graduate of Chapin High School and the University of S.C. with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was employed by S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce.
He was an avid golfer, a member of Mid-Carolina Golf Club and an enthusiastic Gamecock fan. He loved his family deeply and especially enjoyed traveling with them. Disney World was his favorite place.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his two beloved daughters, Olivia Lee and Alyssa Lee of the home; a brother, Robby Lee of Denver, CO; aunt and uncle, Buck and Diane Parnell; and two cousins, Tripp and Shannon Parnell. He was also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Marlene Klansek of Hanover, Pa.
The family would like to thank the staff of S.C. Oncology Associates and Heart of Hospice for their support and excellent care.
