CHAPIN - John Wayne Seppamaki, 77, of Chapin S.C., passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. John was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was an active member of the New Life Community Church in Chapin, S.C., and had a deep and abiding faith. He loved the Lord and he loved people.
John was born on October 30, 1943, to Wayne and Mildred Seppamaki in Muskegon MI. After graduating from Muskegon High School in 1962, he went on to study Business at Western Michigan University. John was passionate about the Boy Scouts of America organization for much of his life. After graduating college, he worked with the Boy Scouts as a District Scout Executive. In 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Sheila, and they had three children, Kathy, JR, and Lisa.
In 1991, John and Sheila made the difficult decision to move their family from Michigan to Irmo, SC. There, John started his company, Aqua Products Company, Inc. He and Sheila enjoyed their life together with their family until Sheila’s passing in 2014.
Although John thought he would spend the rest of his days alone, God had other plans. In 2015, he met a lovely woman named Sandra at a bible study. They became friends and then quickly became much more. On Valentine’s Day of 2016, John asked Sandra to be his wife. They married in May of 2016.
John closed Aqua Products in 2018 and retired. After retirement, he spent as much time as he could serving others. He was active in his church and loved helping those who needed it. He regularly hosted bible studies with his wife, Sandra, and he loved inviting people over to fellowship over food, whenever possible.
John was predeceased by his parents, Wayne and Mildred (Wallenstein) Seppamaki; his sister, Linda; and his beloved wife, Sheila (Nelson). He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Richardson) Seppamaki; children: Kathy Seppamaki, JR (Becca) Seppamaki, Lisa (John) Locklair; stepchildren, Jimmy (Heidi) Richardson, Lynn (Jerry) Lee; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Peg): brother-in-law, Bob Bouwman, and many nieces and nephews.
