A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 pm Wednesday August 16, 2023 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 4:00 pm prior to the service.
Kem was born January 15, 1963 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Kemble and Connie Oliver. Growing up Kem moved around the southeast with his family until graduating from Clark Central High School in Athens. This is when Kem began his lifelong love affair with the University of Georgia. After graduation he moved to his old family lake house on Lake Murray. His out-going, gregarious personality guided him through an outstanding career in sales.
In 2005, he gave the best sales pitch of his life by convincing the love of his life, Sherry Stone to go to a crazy Irish party with him. She said Yes! And the rest is history. Together, with their beloved dog, Callie, they built a life on Lake Murray surrounded by family and friends. In March of 2023, Kem and Sherry moved into their dream home they built together. Kem was always ready to entertain whether it was Saturday football, a simple afternoon on “The Veranda” or being “BoBo” at Camp BeBo.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Sherry; a step-son, Josh Snipes (Nichole); his three adored grandchildren, Sadie, Leighton, Bryant; a brother, Robert Oliver (Becca) and their children, George Oliver (Maggie), Ellen McCormick (Brian), Susie Bays (Blake); a sister, Jessica Goff (Paul) and their children, Kaiya, Haliana, Parker; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Kem’s big heart, please consider performing an act of kindness or donating to the Alzheimer's Association or to a local animal rescue.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.dunbarfuneralhomedutchfork.com for the Oliver family.
