

Lamar lived a life filled with love, adventure, and an unbridled passion for the great outdoors. With his unwavering spirit and infectious enthusiasm, he touched the lives of everyone around him.
Born and raised in Irmo on September 1, 1964, he was the eldest son of Johnny Lamar Bouknight and Sara Ballentine Bouknight. Lamar was a 1982 graduate of Irmo High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Clemson University. He also was a member of the Clemson University Ski Team and an active triathlete. Over the years, Lamar worked in the chemical sales industry and was a devoted father, coaching baseball for his son’s teams, sharing a love for motocross, and attending all recitals and cheerleading competitions for his daughter. When not spending time at home on the lake, he can be found fishing any body of water or climbing a deer stand and hunting in the woods. Lamar was a member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church.
Lamar is survived by his wife of 29 years, Alyson T. Bouknight. Children, Carly T. DuPre (Gervais) of Charleston and Berkley N. Bouknight of Chapin. Also surviving are his parents as well as sister Lisa B. Brannigan (Joe), brother, Darren Bouknight (Kevin Hall), Sister and Brother in laws Cherri and Mike Corcoran, Susan and Steve Glenn, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Lamar will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Dunbar Funeral Home - Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow St, Irmo, South Carolina 29063, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
