

Lawrence A. "Larry" Burns, Sr., born February 7, 1922 in Cincinnati, OH, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by Marge, his loving wife of 69 years, grandson Timothy Burns, and nine siblings. Larry was a graduate of Elder High School, Xavier University, and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He was a lieutenant in the US Navy and served in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters in World War II. He had a long and successful career with Western & Southern Life Insurance Company, retiring as Executive Vice President in 1984. Larry and Marge spent their retirement years in Cape Coral, FL where they enjoyed boating, tennis, and traveling the world.
Larry is survived by his three children, Pat (Ed) Panavich of Columbia, SC, Larry (Peggy) Burns and Dan (Barb) Burns all of Cincinnati; one sister Diane Menkhaus of Cincinnati; six grandchildren and their spouses; six great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. A memorial service for Larry and Marge is planned for a later date in Cincinnati.
