Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Norman A. McCorkle; her son, Christopher M. McCorkle (Stacy) of Tamassee, SC; her daughter, Kimberly Flaherty (Danny) of Lexington, SC; and six beloved grandchildren: Brandon Samples, Lakin Luoma, Emily Luoma, Miles Luoma, Caroline McCorkle, and Connor McCorkle. She is also survived by two sisters, Jeanette Rozier and Susan Williams, and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, J.C. Clark, Jr. and Donald Clark.
From her earliest years, Linda displayed a love of teaching—coming home from school in the first and second grades to teach her younger sister Jeanette everything she had learned that day. She graduated from St. Paul's High school and East Carolina University and received her Masters from Converse College. Her passion for teaching grew into a lifelong calling, and she went on to share her gifts as an educator in the Academically Talented Program at Irmo Middle School, where she shaped the lives of countless students with patience, dedication, and care.
Linda was also a woman of many talents. A gifted seamstress, she made countless clothes for her family, as well as Christmas presents, draperies, and quilts that are still treasured today. She faithfully sang in the church choir for decades, using her musical gifts to glorify God. Her signature solo, “Sweet Little Jesus Boy,” was a highlight every Christmas Eve until Easter of 2025.
Her family remembers her as a Proverbs 31 woman—faithful, hardworking, and virtuous, who cherished her family and lived with steadfast devotion to the Lord.
