

Louise Clinkscales Wilson, 92, of Lexington, South Carolina, died at 1:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Mrs. Wilson, the daughter of the late Alpha Omega Graves Clinkscales and John Thompson Clinkscales was born in Abbeville, South Carolina on February 11, 1931. She graduated from Calhoun Falls High School as valedictorian. She then attended and graduated with a B.A. in English from Converse College in Spartanburg South Carolina. She taught English for 30 years at the Greenwood City Schools, Hand Junior High School, Eau Claire High School and Airport High School. She and James Kermit Wilson were married on June 21, 1952, in Abbeville Presbyterian Church and were married for 63 years before he died in April, 2015.
She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She served as an Elder, Stephen Minister, Sunday School Teacher in kindergarten and adult classes, Deacon, member of Circle 5, member of the Ladies Bible Class, chairman of the 35th anniversary celebration, twice member of the pastor nominating committee and a volunteer with Mr. Bee's Kids Cafe from it's inception. She was also a member of Alpha Zeta sorority for over 50 years and the Lexington County Retired Teachers Association.
Louise was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother always showing unconditional love to her family Her legacy for her family was the Christian life she led.
She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Ann and Howard Nichols of Lexington and Cindy and Barry Zimmerman of Alpharetta, Georgia; Grandchildren; Laura Wilson Hooper (Matt) of Marietta Georgia, Sarah Nichols Hutto (Jamie) of Hermosa Beach, California, James Bradford Zimmerman of Brookhaven, Georgia, and Rachel Ann Davis (Zack) of Brookhaven , Georgia; ten great grandchildren; Tatum Wilson Hooper, Avery Mae Hooper, Lillian Hope Claire Hutto, Azel James Hutto V, Rhett Earle Hooper, Sawyer Banks Hutto, Lawson James Davis, Kasen Kristian Davis, Liam Nichols Hutto and Emerson Rose Davis, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friend, Miller Shealy. She is predeceased by her sister, Julia Clinkscales Warren.
Donations may be sent to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1715 Broad River Road, Columbia South Carolina, 29210 for the transportation fund.
The funeral will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Dr Chris Denny officiating. The family will receive friends at 10 A.M. before the service in the Gathering Room at the church.
