COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Maldon Laverne Miller, 81, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, Irmo, with burial in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family.
Mr. Miller died Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Born in Georgetown County, SC, he was a son of the late William Dewey Miller, Sr. and Thelma Joye Miller. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School in Hemingway, SC. He was in Merchandise and Food Sales beginning with Chapman Drugs and later C.B. Drugs and H.T. Hackney. Mr. Miller was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Carolyn R. Miller of Columbia, SC; daughters, Karen M. Long (Mitch) of Conover, NC and Kim M. Vehaun (David) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Rachel L. Cline (Tim) of Hickory, NC, Matthew T. Long of Raleigh, NC and Jonathan G. Vehaun of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Silas F. Cline and Amelia J. Cline; brothers and sisters, Johnny W. Miller of Lexington, SC, W. Dewey Miller Jr. of Glasgow, Scotland and Jeanette M. Mack of Sandy Run, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Ruth Miller Pizzuti, Frances Miller Revetta, William “Bill” R. Miller, Dorothy Miller Lee, and step-mother, Lila M. Miller.
