Mary A. Komornik Bujak

Columbia – Mary A. Bujak, 90, passed peacefully and prayerfully into the Lord’s kingdom Saturday, October 8, 2022 with her youngest son at her side. Throughout her life, in addition to a variety of part time jobs, she cherished the full time role of wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Hills R.C. Church and truly enjoyed her visits with Fr. Rhett Williams and attending mass at St. Thomas More at the University of South Carolina in her later years.

She thoroughly enjoyed the company of her family and family like friends, especially the Kollmann family and believed dearly in a strong family unit insisting on making family Sunday dinner. She was a dedicated and loving wife, guiding mother, and good friend to those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of fifty one years, Bernard Sr. in March, 2006. She is survived by two sons and their families, Bernard Jr. and wife Barbara of Brick, New Jersey; Jeffrey and his wife Linda, of Columbia; and a daughter Theresa and her husband Barry of Leonia, New Jersey. Grandma and ‘Grammy’ will always be remembered in the hearts and minds of her loving grandchildren Danielle (husband Ryan), Samantha, Victoria (fiancé Andrew), Sarah, and Erica (husband Keith); as well as great grandson Jacob. In addition, she leaves behind her best friend Barbara Kollmann and the entire Kollmann family.

The family would like to extend their most gracious gratitude to Dr. Leslie Stuck who cared for Mary these many years, and the staff of McLeod Home Care, especially Nicole, Brittany, Pam and the Prisma Hospice Team especially nurse Julie, who cared for her every need the last few months of her life. The family would be remiss if it didn’t acknowledge and thank Mrs. Kollmann for her daily visits, countless errands, and continuous tireless sacrifices.

Relatives and friends are welcome to remember her life, Thursday night at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A celebration of her new life with a mass will be held Friday October 14, 2022 at Our Lady of the Hills R.C. Church, 120 Marydale Lane, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Her final earthly resting place will be beside her loving husband, Bernard Sr. at Bush River Memorial Gardens.
