Mary Everett Mozingo
February 20, 1941 – April 27, 2019
Mary Glenn Everett Mozingo, 78, formerly of Darlington and currently of Chapin, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Born in Laurinburg, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Calvin Everett Jr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Stackhouse Everett. She was predeceased by a son, James Pierce Mozingo, V. She is survived by a son, Mark Everett Mozingo (Padgett) of Chapin; two grandchildren, Sidney Carlisle Mozingo and Christopher Garrett Lewis; and a brother Thomas Calvin Everett III of Florence.
A 1959 graduate of St. John’s High School in Darlington, she also attended Coker College. She enjoyed a 43-year career in real estate in the Darlington and Florence areas and, upon her retirement, was believed to have held her broker’s license longer than any other agent in the state of South Carolina. She began her career with Burt Jordan Realtors, and then spent the majority of it with RE/MAX Professionals.
Upon her retirement, Mary moved to Chapin, SC to be closer to her only remaining son and grandchildren. Mary was known by everyone for her fun-loving and friendly personality. She was a force of nature who lived life by her own set of rules and was fiercely protective of her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held May 15th at 1 p.m. at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Darlington, followed by a reception at Wildes-Edwards House, 120 Edwards Ave., hosted by Bessie Hannahan.

Mark, I have always adored your precious Mother--Lynne and I are first cousins and years ago I grew up in Darlington, SC. Mary was so full of life (as you know) and her family and friends always came first. I just want you to know how much I loved her and I am better that she crossed my path. Mary was so special and beautiful on the inside and out--she loved you and yours with all of her heart. A wonderful Mother, grandmother, and dear friend. I will deeply miss your wonderful Mother. My prayers are with all of you, Carole

Mary and I met at Coker College during our Freshman year. She and I were to be roommates our sophomore year but she decided during the summer not to return to Coker. Mary's life revolved around "Jimmy". After a year or two we lost contact with one another but I never forgot her. She was a wonderful friend to me during those few years and I loved her fun-loving attitude about life. May God comfort and give peace to Mary's loved ones during this very difficult time.
