A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Bush River Memorial Gardens. No visitation is planned.
Michael was born in Columbia, SC, on August 2, 1961, to Katherine “Kitty” and Wells Ballentine. He is predeceased by his parents, a brother, Roger Ballentine, and brother-in-law, William “Billy” Engle. Surviving are his sisters: Martha Engle, Mary Demeter (Pete), June Beard (Doug), a twin brother Mark Ballentine, sister-in-law Lynn Ballentine, and many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Michael’s sweet disposition endeared him to his family and his caregivers. It never took long for strangers to warm to him. Michael’s family appreciates and sincerely thanks all of his devoted caregivers.
