Miriam Lee White King, 91, of Chapin, South Carolina, passed away on October 4, 2026. She was born on December 23, 1934, in Winter Haven, Florida, to her parents, Roy Lee White and Lucile Castleberry White.
Miriam was a devoted mother and proud Air Force spouse whose life was centered on caring for the people she loved. During the Vietnam War, she volunteered with the American Red Cross, reflecting the compassion and service that defined her life. She found joy in painting, storytelling, and birdwatching. She lovingly supported her husband’s military career, and together they traveled the world.
Known as a beautiful Southern lady inside and out, Miriam was caring, loving, and the beloved matron of her family. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 72 years, Earl W. King; her daughters, Diane Janus (husband, Bill), Lesa Baker, and Teresa Bray; as well as five grandchildren, Robert, Joseph, Christopher, Mallie, and Alex; and nine great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at Chapin Baptist Church, 950 Old Lexington Highway, Chapin, SC 29036, on October 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., followed by burial at the Chapin Baptist Church Cemetery.
