IRMO Memorial service for Myra Hale-Carter, 53, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Myra died Friday, June 19, 2015. Born in Augusta, Ga., she was a daughter of Anne Starnes Hale and the late Gene Edward Hale.
Myra was a 1980 graduate of Irmo High School and later attended Newberry College. She graduated from the Kenneth Shuler’s Cosmetology School and previously worked as a licensed barber at Shaw Air Force Base. She currently worked at the Verizon Wireless Call Center as a senior customer service representative. She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Prosperity and loved to cross stitch and travel.
Surviving are her husband, Vincent E. Carter of Irmo; her mother of Columbia; brother, Eric Hale; sisters, Sam Delfino, Annie Marsh, and Amy Hale, all of Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bobbie and Otis Carter of Irmo, and the extended Carter family.
