IRMO - A funeral service for Pamela Stamey Head, 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at Union United Methodist Church, with burial in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Head died Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Stamey and Emily Anne Ridlehuber Stamey Drye and was the wife of the late James Dalton Head, III. She was a graduate of Greenville Technical College and Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston Salem, NC. Pam retired from working as a Nuclear Medicine technologist at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital. She was a longtime member of Union United Methodist Church and was a member of their Joy Sunday School class.
Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer “Buffy” Elizabeth Murphy (William) of Columbia, SC; son, Samuel Dalton Head (Lindsay) of Irmo, SC; six grandchildren who were “Inky’s” greatest pride and joy, Mackenzie Murphy, Molly Murphy, McLaine Murphy, Hollis Head, Banks Head, and Elliott Head; brother-in-law, Thomas W. Head (Carol) of Greenville, SC; sister-in-law, Kathy H. Weathers (Bob) of Andrews, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
