Percival “Percy” Hugh Cameron joined his savior, Jesus, in heaven on Thursday August 16. He was born on October 9, 1941 in Massena NY. Percy is the son of the late Miles Donald Cameron and Mary Alice Warring. He was 76 when he passed into eternity at his home in Irmo, South Carolina due to ailing health.
Percy worked for 35 years at the Federal Treasury department, and was the owner of Commander Cams Comics and Cards at the Barnyard Flea Market. In addition, he was an avid member of the Morris Central School board in NY for many years. He was an active member of the American Cancer Society, and the American Red Cross. Percy was greatly loved and respected by his family, friends and peers. All his life, Percy loved super heroes and comics to the point of forming an independent business around them. He had a sneaky sense of humor and possessed a business intellect, both of which he carried through his entire life. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann “Sunny” Cameron; older brother, Allen Cameron; younger sister, Lucy Turner; children, Jeffrey (Cris), Noelle and Jason (Liz), as well as 7 grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, August 20 at 2pm at Riverland Hills Baptist Church. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 19, from 5 to 7pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.
