Ricky Alan Tripp went to his heavenly home on February 17th. He was born on October 30th, 1956 in Barnwell, South Carolina to the late Lacy Franklin Tripp and Virginia Holland Tripp. He spent most of his childhood in Shallotte, North Carolina cropping tobacco during the summers with his beloved late grandparents, Leon and Ruth Tripp and older brother Michael.
Ricky graduated from John T. Hoggard High School where he played football and performed in various musicals. He had a beautiful voice and continued singing those musicals and his favorite song "When the Role is Called up Yonder" for the rest of his life.
Ricky worked as a Health Physics contractor all over the U.S. and in Taiwan, until he met the love of his life, Carol in Shallotte. The two wed in 1982 and moved to South Carolina where they raised three children Hollie (Ryan), Lindsey (Juan), and Aaron (Kathryn). During this time, Ricky held various positions at V.C. Summer Nuclear Station over his 35 years there including as a Health Physicist, Nuclear Training Supervisor, and as a Design Engineer Specialist after receiving his bachelor's degree in Nuclear Science from the University of Maryland.
Ricky enjoyed piloting a cessna 172 as a private pilot, watching westerns, spending time on the farm with his family, including his cousins Bill and John, and working outside.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, three children, five grandchildren: Connor, Emma, Caroline, Kellen, and Hailey, two brothers: Michael (Melanie), and Philip (Diane), his aunt Lib Grissett, and nieces and nephews.
He demonstrated the love of Christ through his willingness to help anyone in need. He was the epitome of kindness and faith in action. We are so thankful knowing that Ricky is with his Savior forever and reunited with his family members who have gone ahead.
