With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we share the passing of Roger Allen Simpson Sr. on January 16, 2026—a truly remarkable man—a cherished husband, beloved father, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, and a steady presence to all who knew him.
Roger’s true legacy lives in his kindness, his gentle authenticity, and his unwavering character. He had a rare ability to make people feel seen, accepted, and at ease. He met people where they were—never judging, never trying to prove anything, and never seeking praise. His presence alone made others feel safe to be themselves.
He was a man others naturally looked to for guidance and wisdom. Calm in every storm, tolerant, optimistic, and deeply compassionate, Roger was a steady anchor for those he loved. His sense of humor and warm heart brought light wherever he went, and his laughter will forever echo in the lives he touched.
Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later served his community as a member on town council for several years. A true entrepreneur, he worked tirelessly—even up to the day he passed—always building, always planning, always working toward the future he dreamed of for his family.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: boating on the Intracoastal and Lake Murray, bowling in his league, golfing, and spontaneous weekend getaways. Though he didn’t like to fly, he was always the first to say to his wife, “Let’s get out of town.”
His love was shown in the quiet, meaningful ways—bringing fresh flowers every week for his wife, honoring her heart by always catching and releasing any creature she couldn’t bear to see harmed, and standing as her calm in every storm. Their love was steady, deep, and true.
Roger leaves behind his beloved wife, Ananda Simpson; his son, Allen Simpson Jr.; his brother-in-law Madison Imel and wife Holley Imel; Goddaughter Isabella Rodriguez and his cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply.
He leaves behind a legacy not of titles or trophies, but of love, kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength. His life stands as a reminder that the greatest legacy is love, and Roger gave that freely.
He will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.
