

Ronald Joe Collins, affectionately known as “Cuz” or “Ronnie”, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at home in Chapin. He was born in Spartanburg on February 27, 1950, to the late Mildred Burdette Collins and Joseph Adrian Collins. Ronnie is survived by Judi Herring Collins, his wife of almost 39 years, his daughters, Joy Collins Fore (Matthew) of Chapin and Heidi Collins Goff (Michael ) of Greenville, and grandchildren, Lauren and Brittany Hauser, Anna Fore, and Alex, Emily, and MacKenzie Goff. He will be missed by nieces and nephews in North and South Carolina by whom he was adored. Ronnie was known for his generous spirit and quick sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and his faithful canine companion, Bowman. He was known for welcoming guests to make them feel at home serving up his culinary delights perfectly seasoned with his jokes and gracious hospitality. “Cuz” spent many happy hours cruising on his Harley, navigating Lake Murray, bass fishing, and dining with family and friends. Ronnie was very talented and known for his holiday decorating expertise. He will be remembered for always keeping not only his cars in spotless condition but also cars of his guests! He was an exceptionally thoughtful person—loving father, husband, son, neighbor, son-in-law, and uncle. Ronnie was a 1969 graduate of Dorman High School and had a long career spanning 32 years with SCE&G before retiring in February 2015. Funeral service is planned for 3:00 Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2015, at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church immediately followed by visitation in the fellowship hall.
