IRMO – Celebration of Life services for Salena Ann Doidge, 61, of Irmo, S.C., will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church. The family will hold two services due to certain gathering restrictions. The first service will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the second service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Proper precautions are being taken and masks are required. The family will receive friends in the outdoor spaces following the service. The services will also be lived streamed at gracecolumbia.org Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family.
Mrs. Doidge died Monday, December 28, 2020. Born in Fort Pierce, FL, she was a daughter of Norma Joyce Cail Wilson of Vero Beach, FL and the late John Dean Richardson. She was currently employed as a customer service manager at Food Lion which is where she has been for the last 21 years. She also has an extensive history in the childcare industry. She loved all of her “adopted” kids dearly. She was an avid member of Grace United Methodist Church. She really enjoyed traveling and spending time with her beloved family. Her family was her heart and soul.
Surviving are her husband, Jeffery A. Doidge of Irmo; daughters, Stephanie Smith (Tim) of Chattanooga, TN, Jennifer Locklair (Mitch) of Chapin, S.C., and Terra Campos (Rod) of Spartanburg, S.C.; sisters, Bonnie Smith of Vero Beach, FL and Charlee Martin of Pittsburg, KS; brother, Johnny Richardson of Mobile, AL; and 10 beloved grandchildren who knew her as “Maw Maw.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Grace United Methodist Church located at 410 Harbison Blvd, Columbia, SC 29212 in her memory. The family also requests that everyone where bright colors to the service, in particular, purple which was her favorite.
