Shawn Quentin Padgett

God called our Shawn home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Shawn will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father, and as a friend to everyone who knew him. His compassion for others was unmatched, and he was always willing to help anyone in need.

Shawn was blessed with a large and loving family, all of whom he cherished deeply. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Laury W. and Virginia L. Padgett; his maternal grandparents, James M. and Betty P. Platt; and his uncle, Steve Platt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Lynn Powers Padgett; daughter, Lila J. Padgett (Brian Thompson); son, Forrest Q. Padgett; father and stepmother, Marty Padgett Sr. (Pam); mother and stepfather, Laurie Smith (Tim); brothers, Shane Padgett (Amanda) and Marty Padgett Jr. (Amy); great-aunt, Helen Johnson; uncles, Marion Platt and Joel Platt (Valerie); aunt, Betty Platt; and nephews, Kyle, Jackson, and Ethan Padgett (Tracy), and Buster and Raygan Padgett (Amanda). He is also survived by grandnieces, Zoe Padgett and Sarah Clark; Delilah and Marleana Padgett; and many beloved cousins.

Visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
