Veronica Patricia Niklinski

Veronica was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cyril Niklinski; her parents; and her siblings, Ronnie Wood, Pam Dykes and Malcolm Wood.

She is survived by her loving children: Mark (Susan) Niklinski of Evans, Georgia; Terry (Jim) Weldon of Chapin, South Carolina; and Sandi (Eric) Spath of Irmo, South Carolina. She is also survived by her brother, Roy Wood of Norwich, England.

Veronica was a proud grandmother to Ashley, Jaime, Kelly, Amber, Megan, Coleman, Madison, Reid, Jordan, Emily, and Raymond and a devoted great-grandmother to Sawyer, Summer, Ember, Levi, Cavani, Lane, and Leo. Nothing brought her more joy than her family, and she delighted in finding special gifts for her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren.

Born and raised in Norwich, England, Veronica married the love of her life, Cyril, in August 1960. Together they moved to the United States in 1962, beginning a life of adventure as a military family. Throughout the years, they made homes in Mississippi, Oklahoma, Ohio, South Dakota, England, Georgia, and ultimately South Carolina, where they settled.

Though she embraced life in America, Veronica never strayed far from her British roots. She cherished traditional Yorkshire pudding and fish and chips, and although her English accent softened over the years, it was still often the first thing people noticed, leading them to ask where she was from.

After living in the United States for more than four decades, Veronica proudly became a United States citizen. Fittingly, Independence Day became her favorite holiday, and every Fourth of July brought together the family she treasured so deeply.

Veronica’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family defined her life. She gave freely of herself, always putting others first and creating countless memories that will be treasured for generations.

She was deeply loved, and her absence will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the love she shared, the family she nurtured, and the legacy she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
