

Mrs. Whitlock was born in Cowpens, SC on August 20, 1924, a daughter of the late James Fred and Vera Husky Parr. She was a graduate of Union High School and Geyers Business College in Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Whitlock retired from the SC State Recreation Department and was the secretary for the State Recreation Commission for several years. She was Secretary of the Letter Carriers Auxiliary and an active member of First Baptist of Irmo, having served on several committees with the Church.
Surviving are daughter Clair Ross of Charlotte, NC, son Randal Frank Whitlock and wife Sue of Little Mountain, SC, and daughter, Nancy Whitlock Wessinger of Chapin, SC. Grandchildren, Jamie Whitlock and wife Melissa, Ryan Whitlock, Chris Ross, Jennifer Ottaway and husband David, Erin Yarbro and husband Chris, Jonathan Whitlock and Nicole Whitlock. With Fourteen great-grandchildren, and Four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitlock is predeceased by her sister, Mary Parr Dixon of Santuc, SC.
In lieu of flowers the family requests to send memorials to First Baptist of Irmo or to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 20177 at Dunbar Funeral Home on Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist of Irmo with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on Garners Ferry Rd., Columbia, SC. Pallbearers will be Chris Yarbro, Eddie Medlock, Ryan Whitlock, Jamie Whitlock, Jonathan Whitlock, Chris Ross, and David Ottaway. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Goza, Bruce Pharis, and the Coed V Bible Study Class.
