December 5, 1933 – July 14, 2021 COLUMBIA Vivian Cox Sharpe, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Wayne and Daisy Bell Baggott Cox. She was a member of Rosewood Baptist Church and Dutch Fork Christian Church. Her passion was taking care of others and she did so with a loving heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her daughters, Linda S. Sightler (George), Carolyn S. Shields (Charles), Teri S. Merritt (Jeff), Angela S. Simpson (Duffy), Lisa S. Dunkley; grandchildren, Scott Sightler (Ginny), Cameron Simpson, Caitlin Simpson, Taylor Johansson (Mitchell), Kendall Dunkley; great-grandchildren, Emma Sightler, Abby Sightler; and brother, Herbert W. Cox. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Fulmer Sharpe; sisters, June Cox Lown, Gloria Cox Joyner; and her brother, Virgil W. Cox. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, with visitation from 1 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. A private burial will be held in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or a charity of one’s choice.
