

Funeral service for William “Bill” Franklin Amirante, 72, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bill passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016. Born in Chicago, Il, he was a son of the late Harry and Evelyn Amirante. Bill retired in 1997 as Director of Dietary at Dayton Mental Health Hospital. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Brenda moved to South Carolina where he attended USC and received his Masters Degree in Art. Bill was an artist who loved teaching art as well as creating his own masterpieces including ceramics. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Bill completed his daily crossword puzzles/cryptograms and loved playing Gin Rummy with friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who loved him. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Brenda; children, Corinne Fannon (Josh), Jennifer Habib (Phil), Caroline Brooks (Ben), Daniel Knebelsberger (Yola); grandchildren, Troy and Nathan. He is also survived by a sister, Sarita Young (John); brothers, James Amirante (Kathy), and Ronald Amirante (Jean).
