William Kelcy Chastain
November 8, 1942 – September 30, 2022

CHAPIN - William (Bill) Kelcy Chastain passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Joe Kelcy Chastain and Kathleen Stewart Chastain.
William (Bill) was a graduate of Furman University. He retired as Colonel of Law Enforcement and Boating with South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. He was a member of the SC Law Enforcement Officers Association and a Mason with Tyger Lodge. William (Bill) was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church in Taylors, SC. An outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, he also loved playing the guitar and doing yardwork.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy L. Chastain of Chapin, SC; son, William (Billy) Chastain Jr. (Suzanne) of Lexington, SC; sisters, Frieda Anne Liston, and Charlotte Newton, both of Taylors, SC; three grandchildren, Henslee C. White (Kyle) of Charleston, SC, Eliza M. Chastain of Charleston, SC and William K. Chastain, III. of Lexington, SC; one great-grandchild, Roman J. White of Charleston, SC; nephew, Glen Newton of Taylors, SC and many other special nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private ceremony.
