William McDow Cunningham

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for William McDow Cunningham, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Cunningham died Thursday, April 23, 2015. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Thomas James Cunningham and Ethel Bouknight Cunningham. He was a graduate of Columbia High School, served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and retired from Southern Bell as a cable repair man. Mr. Cunningham was a member of Bell South Pioneers and Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Iva Price Cunningham; daughters, Sandra Cunningham Chastain (Henry) of Columbia, Gayle Cunningham Sutphin of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Kristi Chastain of Gilbert, Kim Chastain Flake (Gerald) of Lexington, Kevin Henry Chastain of West Columbia; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Erika Danielle Sutphin; a brother; and two sisters. Memorials may be made to Mt.
