William Lewis McElveen

Bill, the son of Dorothy and Wyatt McElveen, was born on September 7, 1940, in Sumter, S.C.

After graduating from Sumter High School, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy. After serving for four years, which took him throughout the world, Bill took a job with Eastman in Columbia,

where he worked for over 30 years.

Bill married Minnie Alice and together they raised their three children, Tiffany, Michelle and Bran, in Irmo, S.C. After Minnie died in 2000, Bill found love again when he met Donna Reed. They married in 2003 and spent 22 years together. He was a member of Union Methodist Church and faithfully attended church and Sunday school.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Wyatt, brother Wyatt Bernard “Bernie”, sister Phyllis Patrick, wife Minnie, and daughter Michelle. Bill is survived by his wife Donna, son Bran (Dee), daughter Tiffany (Robert), grandchildren Kathy (Whit) Sowards, Sarah (Todd) Bryant, Colt McElveen, and great-grandchildren Florence, Logan, Alice and Chloe.

A visitation will be held on December 4, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at Union United Methodist Church, located at 7582 Woodrow St, Irmo, South Carolina, 29063, starting at 2:00 pm.
