

Ada went home to be in heaven with her family and friends on Friday, June 23, 2017; she was 94 years young. She is survived by son, Clare (Chris) Huyck; daughters, Eileen (Steve) Lienhart and Glenna (Jim) Neuvirth; son-in-law, Max Webster; stepchildren, Kathy Mead, Larry (Claudia) Mead, Paula (John) Reule, Trina (Kevin) McGaffigan, Sue (Dick) Ferguson, Ron (Shirley) Lloyd, and Whitney (Phyllis) Lloyd; grandchildren, Cathy, Wm. Gilbert, Emily, Valerie, Mark, Nolan, Alton, Jennifer, Maxiene, Alex, Josh, Julia, Christopher, Gary, Mike, Kara, Kasa, Steve, Andy, Jessie, Brook, Morgan, Travis, Rob, Rex, Tammy, Sherry, Mark, Brian, and Rob Jr.; and many beloved great and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Jean Britt and Margaret (Wayne) Musbach; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands, Frank Huyck and Ralph Mead; parents, William Black, Jr. and Louisa (Jacob) Black Lange; daughters, Donna Huyck, Fay Huyck Webster, and Charlene (Lee) Dempsey; son, Mel Mead; sisters, Mary Lou (Dick) Ramsey and Georgia Kaye (Jim) Kreider; brothers, Alec and William Black III and brother-in-law, Len Britt. Ada was active in the Zion United Methodist Church. She and Frank started a 4-H Club, the “Maple Grove Happy Huyckers” in 1957, in which she was a leader for 35 years. Ada also worked for the MSU Extension service as a program assistant for 8 years. It wouldn’t be surprising to meet her in a school or on the street as Chuckles the Clown. Funeral services will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Burial East Rives Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday 2-4 PM and Monday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Contributions would be appreciated in Ada’s honor to the Zion UMC, Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice of Jackson, or your favorite charity.
