Alice "Peg" Maurer

Of Jackson passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, J.C. Maurer; daughter, Nancy L. (Maurer) Ward and son in-law, Jerry Maas. She is survived by her sons, John (Sharon), Dennis (Buzzy), Donald and Jeff; daughter, Karen Maas; sister, Virginia (Mead) Yarger; brother, Robert Mead; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and cousins, also special friends Karen and Ron Rhines and their family. Peg was the seventh child of fourteen born to Warren and Eva Mead in Paulding, Ohio. Her family was the love of her life. Her passions included gardening, walking, talking, cooking and entertaining her family. She was much loved and will be greatly missed. A service celebrating her life will be held at Arbor Grove Congregational Church 2621 McCain Rd. Jackson, MI 49203 on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 12:00 noon with Pastor John Doud officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Hidden Lake Gardens.
