Andrew (Andy) Johnson peacefully transitioned from earth to heaven at his home on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Andy was born August 9, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. Andy relocated with his parents to Jackson, Michigan and graduated from Parkside high school in 1969. Andy pursued his passion for law enforcement and career as a Corrections Officer, and recently retired after 30 years of service with the State of Michigan Prison.
Andy is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, their two daughters Andréa and Nicole, one grandson Kobe, best friend John Powell, one brother-in-law Emavrice Pierson, many family members, friends, and co-workers.
The Celebration of Life Service officiated by Rev. Jimmy Jarrett, is Monday, May 4, 11 AM – 12:30 PM at the Southside Church, 419 E. High Street, Jackson, Michigan. Repast for family and friends will immediately follow the Celebration of Life Service.
