Archie Paul Edwards, Age 79, of Enfield, IL, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 in Enfield. Mr. Edwards, son of the late Dewell V. and Ida A. (Shane) Edwards, was born May 22, 1936 in Arcola IL. He had retired as a machinist from Jackson Drop Forge in Jackson, MI and later from Federal Forge in Lancing, MI. Mr. Edwards proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and voicing his opinion with everyone he came in contact with. He was a good hearted man and will be dearly missed. On Oct. 26, 1957, he married Clarce Jean McGowen in Nebraska. She preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 1992. Survivors include seven children: James H. Edwards, Theresa D. Carey, Paula J Edwards, Jo Ann Meade, Daniel P. Edwards, Ida A. Fellows and Laura L. Edwards; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be Monday, February 8, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel with interment to follow.
